Doolhof

Doolhof

The valley in which Doolhof lies is blessed with unique and varied terroirs. The microclimates, growing conditions and soil types make it ideal for growing wine grapes.

The Estate lies between Bain’s Kloof and the Groenberg Mountain Range. The result is soils that are finer, more balanced and deeper than in the surrounding countryside with clay content evenly distributed.

The understated elegance of the cool, air conditioned, blue and white Tasting Room at Doolhof Wine Estate provides the perfect foil to display our award winning wines. It is situated in the original wagon house built in the late 19th century and, with light flowing in from its large windows and doors, invites guests to linger a while to taste and purchase their superb wines.

Visitors to the farm, who enjoy exploring can also take part in the River Walk. This hike, which was created in 2007, allows visitors to enjoy the scenic views on offer at Doolhof. One can follow the meandering path for several kilometres and stop at any one of the designated picnic sites along the walk.

Alternatively visitors are welcome to enjoy a 10km walk through the vineyards. Doolhof, which is known for its mysterious hills and vales, is also home to many small mammals, including buck, porcupine, baboons and even leopard.
