Beau Constantia Boutique Wine Farm

Perched atop Constantia Nek with commanding views of False Bay, the Beau Constantia wine farm stands as a boutique wine farm of exceptional allure. Here, vines flourish at an elevation of 350 meters above sea level, gracing some of the steepest agricultural slopes in the Cape. Enveloped in panoramic vistas, these meticulously tended vines gaze upon the majestic Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountain ranges, stretching over False Bay to the distant silhouette of Hangklip.

In the aftermath of devastating fires that ravaged the fynbos and pine forests in 2000, the land underwent a transformation. The slopes were cleared and terraced, revealing untapped potential for vineyard cultivation. In 2002, Pierre and Cecily Du Preez seized the opportunity, acquiring the 22-hectare property. Following thorough soil analysis, the inaugural vineyards took root in 2003 under the stewardship of dedicated farm manager, Japie Bronn.

The journey to cultivate vineyards on these precipitous slopes demanded patience and unwavering effort. Today, Beau Constantia boasts 11.47 hectares under vine, a testament to the perseverance and dedication of all involved. The vineyards host an array of varietals including Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz, and Petit Verdot, each nurtured to express the unique terroir of this extraordinary landscape.
